Cutting nails & mourning
Are there any special halachos regarding a person within the shloshim of avelus, for ex, should she get someone else to cut her nails etc...
Thank you for your question.
It is best to get a non Jewish woman to cut your nails before mikveh. If this is not possible, then having a Jewish girl under 12 years old would be best. If that's also not possible, another Jewish woman should cut them. If none of these options are available, you can cut your nails yourself. Other preparations such as washing and checking for chatzitzot should be unaffected by your aveilut status.
