Delayed immersion
My husband recently had surgery, and the doctor told him he cannot have relations for at least 2 weeks. Because of this my Rabbi said that I should preferably postpone going to the Mikveh until he is allowed to have relations. So my question is, Am I supposed to do bedikot everyday until I go? Am I supposed to continue wearing whie underwear? am i supposed to just check the day of the mikveh after I finish counting me shivah Ne'kiyiim?
Dear questioner,
Thank you for your question.
After you properly finish your shivah neki'im you do not need to continue bedikot or wearing white garments until you go to the mikveh. The only time that you would need to do bedikot during this time frame is if it overlaps one of your onot perishah. If this happens, do a bedikah then. If you forget the bedikah for onah beinonit (or for a veset kavua if you have one), it has to be done before you have relations.
