Veset based on staining?

Hi,
I am a breastfeeding woman, and although I didn't get my period for the first 8 months, I had some light staining, and then one day of a heavier stain that I thought was my period. It then stopped, but I counted the five days, then 7 clean, and went to the mikvah.

Two days later, I got my period for real. I counted again, and went to the mikvah. Now I am mid-cycle, and fear that I may start staining again ( I noticed some very pale pink). I would like to wear black underwear and black pantiliners, and not look at any toilet paper so that I am completely unaware. BUT, I just realized that perhaps I need to count my onah/veset from that last niddah "episode" two weeks earlier, and upon checking my calendar, those days happened yesterday and the day before that. If I am to do the bedikah today, I fear that it will come out with some pink on it, or some other color, and I will be niddah yet again.

What I am asking is, is there some leniency due to any of the following factors:
1. Breastfeeding???
2. That first "period" was only one day long
3. I have since had a real period
4. I missed the actual days of checking
5. I have had mid-cycle staining in the past, and do not want to be niddah every week

Until then, I will continue to avoid my husband.
Thank you so much!!

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your question.

Since generally a veset is not established for staining, there was no need to keep the veset days for the heavy staining you originally found, and you do not need to do a bedikah before resuming relations with your husband (though we recommend that you avoid relations on a day you are staining - without considering yourself niddah).

The "real" period you had does require you to keep yemei veset when they arrive.

If you are unsure of your status due to the staining, please get back to us with details about the size and situation in which the stain was found, as well as the type of material it was found on.
