Yom hachodesh
Hello
After experiencing light flow/heavy staining after birth which i treated as a flow, i observed yom hachodesh. There was no flow then or since. Do i need to continue anticipating this yom hachodesh?
Thank you
Shalom
Dear questioner,
Thank you for your question.
If the yom hachodesh passed without any bleeding, then you are no longer required to observe it. When you next become niddah, you will use the day your flow begins to calculate a new yom hachodesh, which you will observe the following month. At that point, you will also be able to calculate the haflagah based on the interval between the two episodes of bleeding.
This is the case unless this was your veset kavua before you got pregnant, in which case please write back.
Please see our article on Yom HaChodesh for further details and write back with any questions.
