Veset on Mirena
I have mirena which made me a Niddah for 8 weeks. I "cleaned up" by taking the pill until I could go to the mikvah and then just never look. I seem to be fine and dont feel like I am having my period. Is there ever a time when we have to separate and I have to check to see if I am bleeding?
Thanks
Dear questioner,
Thank you for your question.
At this point, barring a flow or a stain that renders you niddah, you are not required to separate. If you do become niddah again, you will calculate veset days based on the beginning of the flow (vesatot are not calculated based on stains, even if they make you niddah). If you do notice a stain that does not render you niddah, you may wish to abstain from relations until you are confident any staining has ceased. This is a suggestion and is not a halachic requirement.
Many women do not bleed at all after their initial adjustment to Mirena. This advantage helps to compensate for the difficulties is of extended time in niddah while adjusting.
