Onah beinonit postpartum

My wife gave birth 9.5 months ago and is on the mini-pill. I was under the impression that for the first two years we only have to keep the vestot haflagah and hachodesh. Is there an opinion that supports this? Thank you very much for your time.

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your question.

There is a halachic debate about a woman keeping onah beinonit during the first two years after childbirth.  Most halachic authorities, including Rabbi Henkin, the halachic supervisor of this website, rule that today once a nursing woman has resumed menses, she goes back to keeping all halachot, and observes all three vesatot.  You might want to check with your rabbi to find out if his opinion differs on this matter.

This internet service does not preclude, override or replace the psak of any rabbinical authority. It is the responsibility of the questioner to inform us of any previous consultation or ruling. As even slight variation in circumstances may have Halachic consequences, views expressed concerning one case may not be applied to other, seemingly similar cases.
