Thrush treatment & clean days

Hi,
I gave birth 6 weeks ago and am ready to do my hefsek. When I try though, it is very painful and I get a bit of blood from the outside of my vagina. I think I may have thrush (which I got on a regular basis throughout my pregnancy). I would really like to go to the mikva before my brother's wedding in 2 weeks. If I manage to get a clean bedika, can I use an antifungal suppository if the dr recommends it? Thanks

We're sorry to hear about your thrush and hope that you see your physician soon, if you have not already done so.  You may treat the thrush at any point during the clean days.  However, given your pain and bleeding, we suggest you treat the thrush prior to counting the clean days. If you do begin the clean days prior to treating your condition, we suggest inserting the suppository at night, after you have completed any bedikot required.

Given your discomfort, you may omit the moch dachuk, and perform bedikot only for the hefsek taharah and on the first and seventh day. We strongly suggest that you do one more bedikah on an intermediate day.  That way, if you forget the seventh day bedikah, you won't have to start the count over from the beginning.  (Should this happen, write us again or call the hotline.)   Once healed, you should return to keeping all of the laws as usual.
