Extra bedikah invalidated hefsek?
I have a question concerning niddah. I did my hefsek taharah yesterday afternoon. It was clean. But I was nervous that I did not go up far enough and do it properly, so I did another one a couple hours later (which may have even been after the time, which you are allowed). The bedikah cloth had a tiny bit of pink.
Can my first hefsek taharah yesterday count? It was clean and the second one I did later only had a very small bit of pink and it might have been after the time allowed. I have been wearing white underwear and they are clean.
Thank you.
Dear questioner,
Thank you for your question.
Presumably, your first hefsek taharah did count. But there is still the question of whether your second bedikah invalidated it. Please bring your second bedikah to a rav for evaluation. If he rules it acceptable, then you may proceed with the clean days as originally planned. If not, then it invalidated the clean days and a new hefsek taharah would be required.
Sometimes, making too many attempts at a hefsek taharah or going too deeply can lead to injury. The best course of action is to make one attempt as deeply as you can comfortably go.
