Bedikah after second relations?

30 March, 2006

Question:

My wife and I got married about a month ago. She saw blood on our wedding night. The secod time we had relations, she felt discomfort. Under what consequences, if any, does she have to check herself after relations accompanied with discomfort? Please respond as soon as you can. Thanks!

Answer:

Even where there is discomfort, a bride is not required to perform a bedikah after the second act of relations.  There is disagreement over whether or not you should check your sheets for stains.  The rabbinic supervisor of this site, R Yehuda Henkin, does not require it.
