Hormonal Methods

Hormonal regulation is often the halachically preferred method of birth control.

There are two categories of hormonal contraception. One type contains both estrogen and progesterone; the other is only progesterone. Each is available in a variety of formulations and with several methods of delivery.

This section includes medical and halachic information on hormonal contraceptives. The Progesterone section includes specific information on progesterone only methods.
