Premenstrual stain and minimum days

This morning I saw a very small (smaller than a dime) stain on my colored underwear. I felt no hargasha, but I never do feel any hargasha even when I do get my period. Since it is a week until I expect my period, I just changed my underwear and ignored it.

Tonight, after dark, after using the toilet I realized that my period did in fact begin. When do I start counting–tonight or earlier today?
