Brown on bedikah for onah

5 January, 2014

Question:

Hi,

My Ona was last Thursday. I performed my check before Sunset and it came out with a small amount of colour on it but I was not sure if the colour made me niddah (it was a light browny colour). Me and my husband separated then as precaution but I got my period a few hours later anyway (after sunset). Do I start counting my days from Thursday or Friday?

Thank you

Answer:

Since you separated from the questionable stain found on your bedikah, and your period began a few hours later, you may count your 5 day minimum from Thursday. However, you will calculate next month's onot from when the actual flow began, on Thursday night.
