Clean days after first postpartum period

25 July, 2014

Question:

I just became a niddah for the first time since giving birth five months ago. Am I required to do two bedikos daily during the seven clean days? Or is there a leniency for me to do less?
Thank you so much in advance.

Answer:

Mazal tov on the birth of your baby!

In this case, you should attempt to perform two bedikot each day.  If you find that the area is irritated or that you have difficulty getting through the clean days, that number may be reduced. You may also omit the moch dachuk if it causes difficulty or discomfort.
