Attributing stain to bowel movement

3 October, 2014

Question:

Do I need to pay any attention to a kesem (in 7 clean days, on white) that I can 100% attribute to a bowel movement⁄stomach problem? I got a stomach bug and I don't need to provide the details. The point is, if the kesem were potentially from my uterus⁄cervix⁄place that makes you niddah, it would be a questionable color. But its location and some other features show me clearly it is not from that, but rather from my upset stomach situation. I don't want to have to bring this to my rabbi. It's icky.

Thank you!

Answer:

If it is clear to you that the stain is from a bowel movement, it may be attributed as such, and your clean days are not invalidated. You do not need to show it to a rabbi.
