Finding spermicide for diaphragm in Israel

10 October, 2016

Question:

We live in Israel and received a psak to use a diaphragm. Now we are looking to buy spermicide and can't find any. Can you give an exact address of a pharmacy that has spermicide?

Answer:

If you live in the Yerushalayim area, spermicidal gel for use with diaphragm can usually be obtained directly from the Alba pharmacy on Rehov Yaffo 02-6253703 or from the Oranim pharmacy in the shopping center on Shai Agnon 02-6792632. In Bet Shemesh, it is available at Broder 02-9993990, in Kefar Saba, at Pharma Shop, and at Shor Tabachnik in downtown Tel Aviv. Pharma Shop Kefar Saba reportedly will sell by phone and mail out: 09-7425850. Shor Tabachnik also sells "Orto-Krem" via their website: shor.co.il

Some pharmacies may require a prescription (from a gynecologist or family doctor) or an import form, and stock may vary, so it is best to call ahead.

We hope this helps. Please write back with any further questions.
