Red-and-white stain
20 April, 2003
Question:On the fifth day of shivah neki'im I found a stain on my white underwear. There was a small red dot in the middle of white discharge. The white was larger than a gris but the red was MUCH smaller. If it were alone I would know it wasn't a problem – does being part of a larger discharge change the halakha?
Answer:As long as the red (or reddish) color is smaller than a gris (approximately the area of a US dime or an Israeli shekel), the fact that it's part of a larger discharge does not matter and you may continue counting shivah neki'im.
