Early morning – night or day?

24 October, 2004

Question:

My period came at 4:57 a.m. on October 21; for onah purposes, is this considered the night of October 20th?

Answer:

Please check local halachic sunrise (go to Time of Sunrise/Sunset for a link). If you discovered before sunrise that your period had started, then it is considered the night onah. Otherwise, it is the day onah.
