Age for tzniut

Question:

I know there are different views on this, but I’m interested to know Rav Henkin’s psak. From what age should I dress my daughter fully tzanua?


Answer:

Rav Henkin notes that the letter of the law follows Chazon Ish, that the requirements of tzeniut become obligatory around puberty.

He adds that educationally, however, children tend to internalize standards they are taught when they are younger than that, and that the dress standards of the daughter’s friends also have an impact. These factors should be taken into account when making practical decisions.
