Hemorrhoid banding and mikveh

Question:

Is hemorrhoid banding considered a chatzitzah? If it is done 2–3 days before going to the mikveh is that a problem? Thank you!


Answer:

Since the rubber bands used in the procedure are inserted internally to treat hemorrhoids inside the body, and will fall off on their own, they are not considered a chatzitzah. You may immerse as scheduled.
