Mazal tov on the recent birth of your baby!
It is not necessary to consult with a rabbi when deciding not to use contraception. When a couple wishes to use contraception, then it is appropriate to discuss with a rabbi under which circumstances it is halachically permissible.
It is important to give your body enough time to heal from the last birth, and to focus on your newborn. In addition, we recommend discussing this decision with your physician to confirm that there is no medical reason for you to avoid closely spaced pregnancies.
