Niddah after miscarriage
March 5, 2026

Question

Hi. Is there anything different about Nida after a miscarriage or any other halachot to know? Thanks!

Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry if this means that you or someone you care about had a miscarriage.

The major difference is that a woman who is able to quickly and smoothly perform a hefsek taharah and count seven clean days, and who had a female fetus or fetus of unknown gender, cannot immerse in the mikveh before the fourteenth night from the miscarriage.
