Question

Is it permissible to breastfeed in a room that has sefarim in it, assuming I will not be able to keep myself covered the entire time?

Also, is it permissible to discuss or read divrei Torah while breastfeeding if I am covered, but beneath the covering my hand is touching my breast?

Thank you very much.

Answer

It is permissible to breastfeed in a room with sefarim in it. Although you are not required to keep yourself covered, it is preferable to keep yourself covered to the extent possible (without interfering with nursing).

It is permissible to discuss or read divrei Torah while breastfeeding.

May your child merit to follow in his/ her mother's example of Torah study!
