Hi! I hope all is well. I have a question about induction. Bez”H I am currently 8 months pregnant with my first child. My doctor has discussed the possibility of an induction (approx 3 days after my due date) if I don't give birth before that.

All the halachic sources I have seen say that inductions are not okay unless “medically necessary” and shouldn’t be made for convenience. The way my doctor explained it to me, inducing relatively soon after the due date lowers the risk that I might need a C-section, and this is what the current research is suggesting. Would this be considered medically necessary?

Additional information to weigh is that my due date is a Shabbos, and my frum doctor said we should schedule the induction for Monday night/Tuesday morning so that I could be home for Shabbos bez”H. Additionally, she is in the hospital every Tuesday so that would work best for her (I saw some sources that said that inductions due to doctors convenience is no good halachically. I don’t know if this qualifies as that).
