Leftovers brought home from restaurant
July 2, 2013

Question

My husband and I had dinner at a restaurant last night. Some of my portion was left over, so we took it home. We are in niddah. Is my husband allowed to eat my leftover food we took home?

Answer

During niddah, a husband may eat his wife's leftovers if they are transferred from her dish to another dish or receptacle. Therefore, when the restaurant packed the food for you to take home, it became permissible for him to eat it.
