Thank you for reaching out.
We are sorry to hear of your condition and wish you a refuah shleimah.
It is halachically permissible to
delay mikveh until your doctor gives you the ok to immerse.
From a medical perspective, regarding impetigo, it is best to delay immersion until you are no longer contagious to prevent the spread of infection.
If this presents particular difficulty, you can speak to your doctor about the possibility of immersing earlier. You should let your doctor know that the water is chemically treated and can be changed after you use it to prevent spreading the infection. If your doctor approves, you would arrange in advance with the
mikveh attendant to be the last one to immerse for the night and for the water to be changed afterwards.
Regarding cellulitis, please check with your doctor as to whether there are any medical concerns with immersion, and, if so, when it would be safe for you to immerse.
When you do get to mikveh, it would be best to do your
preparations at home this month.
Please feel free to get back to us with any further questions.
We wish you good health!
