Accidentally changed to colored underwear
November 5, 2014

Question

I am currently seven weeks post partum and I just started counting my seven clean days. I did the 'hefsek' with white underwear, but during day one I accidentally changed to purple ones. I did, however, have on a white pad liner. Can I continue counting normally or do I have to restart?

Thank you very much for your generous service.

Answer

Mazal tov on the birth of your baby!

White undergarments are worn during the clean days both so that stains can be readily seen and to establish the woman's awareness of her clean days. In this case, you were able to see on the liner that you did not stain and, assuming you continued performing the bedikot of the clean days, indicated awareness of them. Your clean days may continue as scheduled.
