We're glad to be of help.
Uterine bleeding can render a woman
niddah whether it is caused by natural hormones or by a medication like tamoxifen. If your initial bleeding was significant enough to be considered a "flow" rather than "staining," or if it met the criteria for stains, you were
niddah even before the procedure. (See our page on
stains for a more detailed explanation.)
In any case, a
D&C generally renders a woman
niddah.
Assuming the minimum wait has been completed, you may perform a
hefsek taharah as soon as your bleeding stops, which may take a number of days. You should omit the
moch dachuk.
Please see our page on
shivah neki'im for advice on counting the clean days in a situation of staining. You can reduce the number of
bedikot to one per day and, if necessary, even further: only the
hefsek taharah, one
bedikah on day one of the clean days and one on day seven, and ideally one
bedikah on an intermediate day. If stains on white underwear make it difficult for you to complete the clean days, you may wear disposable
pantiliners and disregard stains on them.
After you have immersed in the mikveh, you should continue to be careful with the precautions of stains.
