Brown bedikah on onah & five day wait
January 5, 2014

Question

Hi,

My Ona was last Thursday. I performed my check before sunset and it came out with a small amount of colour on it but I was not sure if the colour made me niddah (it was a light browny colour). Me and my husband separated then as precaution but I got my period a few hours later anyway (after sunset). Do I start counting my five days from Thursday or Friday?

Thank you

Answer

Since you separated because of your uncertainty regarding whether your were niddah from the brown stain found on your bedikah, and your period began a few hours later, you may count your five-day minimum from Thursday. However, you will calculate next month's onot from when the actual flow began, on Thursday night.
