Dental implant

Question

Hi. I need to have a tooth extracted and tooth implant put in. Does having a tooth implant pose any problem in terms of mikvah? If it’s there long term, can you confirm it is not a chatzitzah? Thank you very much.

Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us.

From a halachic perspective, a long-term dental implant becomes part of the body. Therefore, it is not considered a chatzitzah (barrier to mikveh immersion).

We wish you much success with your dental procedures and a refuah sheleimah!
