Question

My first pregnancy was a blighted ovum and I had a D&C. Since then, thank G–d, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy who was delivered by C–section (and so did not have a pidyon haben). What is his status regarding Taanit Bechorot? Is he considered a Bechor?

Answer

Mazal tov on the birth of your baby!

Your baby is halachically considered a bechor, since he is your first born baby. Your previous pregnancy and his birth via c-section do not affect his status. He will be obligated in Taanit Bechorot.
