Thank you for reaching out to us.
Discharge of a
niddah color on a
bedikah that you performed during an
onah would make you
niddah.
However, a light brown with no hint of a reddish tint (e.g., the color of coffee with milk or lighter) is
not a
niddah color and does not make a woman
niddah under any circumstances. If the color you see fits this description, you would not be in
niddah from these
bedikot. If you are unsure whether the brown has a reddish tint, you should bring the
bedikah for
evaluation by a halachic authority.
Regarding
vesatot: If you have a
consistent and
brief interval between the onset of this staining and the onset of a blood flow, then that can be relevant for
vesatot. For example, if you always find brown staining during the same day or night as the beginning of your flow, or during the day or night just before it begins, then get back to us with more details about timing, as that might affect your
vesatot. (This would be a type of
veset haguf, learn more
here.)
If you simply tend to have this color on
bedikot veset or over the course of a few days before your bleeding begins, but without a clearly defined pattern (e.g., sometimes for two days, sometimes for a day and a half, sometimes for one or three), then that does not affect your
veset calendar.
