Was nail cut before immersion?
October 29, 2008

Question

What do you do if you aren't sure if you cut a nail prior to toveling (i.e. I know I cut it before I started bedikot, but can't remember if I filed it the day I went to the mikva because it was still short)?

Answer

There is no requirement to file or cut your nails the day of immersion. If your nails are already short and are in good shape (do not have any hangnails, etc.), you simply need to clean them well before immersing.
