Waxing legs

Question

Hi.

I normally wax my legs every four weeks, and usually make sure to do so a few days before mikvah. Recently, however, I became niddah unexpectedly, and iy"h mikvah night will be only about 3 weeks since my last appointment. By that time, there will definitely be some hairs on my legs. I wouldn't say they don't bother me at all, since I would rather not have them there. However, normally I would just wait another week (or sometimes more) before going in for a wax, and would not attempt to remove them in the interim. Am I required to get a wax done before mikvah night, or can I wait until a week or so afterward when my next waxing would ordinarily be scheduled?

Also, if I do a waxing too early, then it does not remove all the hair, and more hair will likely grow in as soon as a day after the waxing. If I do have to wax, do I also have to try to remove those new hairs before mikvah night?

Thank you.

Answer

If it is your custom to wax regularly before mikveh use, it is preferable to do so. However, since you would have waited a week or more under normal circumstances, there is no requirement to push up your appointment. Body hair in this case is not considered a barrier for mikveh immersion.
