When to recite asher yatzar at mikveh
March 10, 2005

Question

I’ve read that if one uses the bathroom during mikveh preparations, one should say the bracha asher yatzar before immersion in the mikveh. Is it permissible to delay this bracha until after the immersion (when it would be much easier for me to find a place to say it in an unrushed way)? Thanks for your wonderful website!

Answer

Thank you for the compliment.

One should not delay the recitation of asher yatzar. One option would be to use the bathroom at the very beginning of preparations. Then you could step out into the waiting room for the brachah.
