Earring allergy & cleaning holes before mikveh
April 5, 2016

Question

Thank you so much for this amazing service. I have my ears pierced but I do not wear earrings as I have become highly allergic to them. I heard that for mikvah preparation, you should clean the earring hole by sticking an earring through. However, when I do this, I find that I have an allergic reaction. Is there any other way I can clean the earring holes?

Answer

It is not necessary to poke through the earring hole during your preparations for mikveh, especially if it causes you discomfort. You should just clean your earlobe externally and that is sufficient.
