I am 26 weeks pregnant and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I have had the situation the first two pregnancies as well. I have a sensitive cervix and I tend to spot and bleed throughout the pregnancy. I have been put on reduced activity because the more activity I do the more often I bleed or get contractions. I am checked weekly by my doctor and so far nothing has changed with my cervix and there is no impending labor. I have what the doctors call a ectropion, I think, which is enlarged glands on the outside of my cervix so any strain such as a bowel movement may cause me to bleed.
If I remember and understood correctly, when I asked a rabbi during my previous pregnancies I was told that I was not considered a nidah because this is not uterine bleeding and it's not causing me to go into labor. I just want to check with you and clarify that this is the case.
