Question

I'm using mikvahcalendar.com to keep track of my cycles.
Last Thursday was my onah beinonit. I did a bedika in the late afternoon, which was red so I declared myself niddah.
I did not have any sort of actual flow until later that night. I know I can attempt a hefsek on day 5 from declaring myself niddah (today), but do I count my vestot next month as if my red bedikah was day 1 of my flow, or do I have to modify?

Common practice when a woman has a stained bedikah, even one that comes shortly before a flow, is to calculate vesatot only based on the onset of flow. However, this case is slightly different, because your bedikah was on your onat haveset, shortly before the flow began.

For this coming cycle, you should calculate and observe vesatot based on your flow at night, as usual. In addition, during the preceding onah, you should pay attention to premenstrual symptoms or staining, and abstain accordingly.
