Question

My husband and I are on vacation with a group of people, seven hours from the nearest mikveh. There is an ocean, but would be much harder to go to without notice at night. Is it possible to be tovel early the next morning in the ocean and wait until evening (8th night) to be together with my husband?

Based on your description, it would be permissible to immerse in the early morning of the eighth day. It would be preferable not to see your husband altogether during the day, though we understand that might not be feasible. You should take special care, however, to avoid yichud with your husband between the immersion and the following nightfall. This may take some advanced planning.
