Hi, I am on vacation with my family at a cottage in the country. I found a mikveh in the area and planned to go. However, on arriving at the cottage, we saw the road leading up to it is about 15 minutes winding road in complete darkness (no street lights). Today while driving, we had the thrill of seeing a bear on the road who thankfully jumped out of the way (this was driving in the daytime).
My husband and I both agreed it is not safe for me to drive alone for this 40 minute drive in the dark given the lack of street lamps, animals in the area, and the winding road. I had to cancel my appointment for tonight (Monday). I am wondering if there is an option to go to the Mikveh tomorrow during the day instead? The mikveh attendant said she could accommodate if I had a heter to do so.
If it’s not an option, I will have to wait until we get home from our trip this coming weekend. Thank you very much for any insight.

If you feel the drive would be safe for you and your husband together, and it is possible for him to accompany you, that would be ideal, and you should immerse at night. If that is impossible to arrange, and the alternative is to delay tevilah until the weekend, you may immerse on the 8th day, preferably late in the afternoon, on condition that you do not have relations until after nightfall.
