Hormonal methods and IUDs are generally more effective methods of contraception and thus more commonly used. Diaphragms used together with spermicide are also an effective and halachically acceptable option.

If you do choose to try FAM, you may use a diaphragm with spermicide during your fertile window. However, we do recommend learning in depth about FAM from an expert before relying on it as a contraceptive method. See our article on FAM for more information.
