Laser hair removal before mikveh

Question

Hi! I was wondering what the rules are regarding laser hair removal before the mikvah? I was thinking about doing it but I heard it can cause burns sometimes and I wanted to know if that’s an issue for the mikvah?

Answer

We do not see any halachic issue with having laser hair removal done the day of tevilah. Any remnants of numbing gel, or cream put on afterwards, should be washed off while bathing during your mikvah preparations. While a qualified, experienced technician should be able to avoid burns, should you experience one it does not prevent you from going to mikvah.
