Newly pierced ears

Question

I just got my ears pierced last week and I need to go to the mikvah this week. My earing holes will close if I take the earrings out. Can I dip with them?
Thanks

Answer

While it is preferable to remove all foreign items from the body before immersion, in a case of need there is room to permit immersing with items that are meant to adorn the body (such as loose jewelry).
In this case you may immerse with the earrings, making sure to clean the area well during your preparations and loosening the earrings if possible so they are not squeezing the earlobe tightly during immersion.
