Onot veset with Primolut Nor
15/08/2024

Question

Hi, I am taking primolut to delay my period for a trip. Do I need to observe the onot in this case?
I’m worried if I may have some breakthrough staining that doing a bedika would make me niddah for the trip.

Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us.
The use of Primolut Nor is presumed to push off a menstrual flow, so that a woman does not need to observe her vesatot when using it.
For most women, this will work for at least five or six days, so vesatot falling within that range of time can be disregarded. If she happens to have a long interval veset that comes out after that delay has passed, then she should observe it.
An exception is a woman with a copper IUD, where Primolut Nor is often less successful. Unless that particular woman has previously had success with these pills delaying her period even with the IUD, she should observe her usual veset days.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
