Unmarried women (single, divorced, or widowed) are generally not permitted to immerse in the mikveh at all, even for spiritual purposes. However, should you wish to immerse for purposes of
spiritual purification and repentance, there is basis to allow it. Some women's mikvaot only accommodate this type of immersion on
Erev Rosh HaShanah and/or
Erev Yom Kippur, if at all. Local community practice and policy vary and you should check in with your local mikveh in advance.
Since the immersion is not for the halachic purpose of exiting the
niddah status, you need not and should not follow the laws of
niddah or count seven clean days beforehand.
Other, traditional means to perform
teshuvah are: to pray, to give
tzedakah, to perform
chesed, and even to fast. You may wish to contact a local rabbi or spiritual mentor for guidance.
