Dam betulim for non-virgin?
May 15, 2009

Question

I am not a virgin and I was wondering what the halachos are for the night of the wedding and the week of sheva brachos.

Answer

So long as she does not have hymeneal bleeding, a woman who is not a virgin is not required to separate from her husband after the first act of relations. You will presumably not become niddah until your first uterine bleeding following the wedding.

You and your husband will be fully permitted to each other. However, if you were not previously married, we suggest acting as though you are observing the harchakot when you are in public so that your pre-wedding status remains private.
