Please speak to your doctor about taking progesterone (Norethindrone, sold as Aygestin in the United States and Canada, or Norethisterone, sold as Primolutnor in Israel) to
delay your period.
Protocols may vary, but the usual dose to delay periods with progesterone is 5 mg 2-3 times per day, starting 5 days before the earliest expected date for your period and continued for as long as needed to delay menstruation. Prolonged continuous use may cause staining, so it is best used for no more than two to three weeks at a time.
You do not have to observe your usual
onot while taking the progesterone, since the medication is working to delay your period. Instead, you should observe a
veset on the last
onah (day or night) in which bleeding is likely to begin, based on the package insert. However, while only the final
onah is a strict
veset day, you should be cautious with relations from the first day on which bleeding might start. See more
here.
Please feel free to get back to us with any further questions.
B’hatzlacha!
