The basic halacha is that raw or unwoven cotton is not susceptible to ritual impurity (
mekabel tumah). Disposable
pads or liners that include cotton are generally non-woven and thus, stains on them may be treated as stains on a
surface that is not mekabel tumah.
However, as a matter of stringency, it would be best to avoid white disposable products with cotton and use either synthetic pads and liners or colored cotton pads or liners. Many reusable pads and liners on the market come in colored varieties.
