Mazal tov on your wedding!
It is possible that the bleeding is hymenal or from irritation.
Even if the bleeding is hymenal, we follow the position that it is
not considered a recurrence of
dam betulim in this case, because you have already had full relations once without bleeding.
The first halachic step is to describe more clearly the bleeding that you saw and where and how you saw it. In many cases staining does not make a woman
niddah – for example, if it is found on a colored surface, or on toilet paper if there was a pause between urinating and wiping. If the bleeding you saw can be classified as staining that does not make you
niddah, that would be the simplest way to resolve this. (Please see our pages on
stains and
toilet paper for detailed explanations and recommended precautions.)
If the bleeding is of the sort that would ordinarily make you
niddah, then we would need additional confirmation that the bleeding was
non-uterine. You could start by using a mirror to see if you can identify any area that is bleeding or looks especially red or irritated and get back to us. If that doesn't work, you can make an appointment for an examination with a
bodeket taharah (
niddah nurse) or with your physician.
(Regardless, if there is a long wait for gynecologist appointments in your area it might make sense to try to schedule one now, just in case you wind up needing it.)
We recommend using lubricant for at least the next few months, until your body is more accustomed to relations.
