Stain on onah, didn’t do bedikah
January 6, 2016

Question

My interval ona was yesterday during the day. I was not able to do a bdika that day, but I saw a ketem on white which wasn't clear if it was tahor or not.

I made a bdika in the evening (after the ona had already passed) and the bdika was not tahor.

Should I calculate my next onot from the daytime when I saw the ketem, or from the following ona when I proved myself to be nidda after making a bdika?

Answer

Onot calculations are generally based on the onset of flow, even when a stain comes earlier. Thus, you should calculate your next onot from the onah last night, when you did the bedikah.

However, if your stain was a niddah stain, then you did not uproot your previous interval.

If you still have the stain, you should have it evaluated. If it did make you niddah (or if you no longer have the stain), then you will observe, in addition to your other onot next month, your previous interval. If it did not make you niddah, then the previous interval has been uprooted.
