Timing of army leave and mikveh night

Question

If my husband gets a choice in when he gets a short leave from Miluim, does he have to choose Mikvah night? I would much rather have him home for Shabbos, and he most likely won’t be allowed out the day of my Immersion but only a day or two after anyways. If it is anyways being delayed, can he get out for Shabbos instead or it must be as close as possible to the day of immersion?
